Frequently asked questions You probably have a few questions, and that’s totally fair. Whether it’s about how we work, what we offer (or don’t), or how budgets and consults are handled, this is where we lay it all out. Still wondering about something? Just reach out.
What kind of clients does Familiar work with?
We work with people who are building something meaningful. That could be a creative startup, a purpose-driven organization, or a scale-up ready to grow. If you believe in the power of brand and want to build something real together, there’s a good chance we’re a fit.
What makes someone a good match for Familiar?
We click best with people who trust the process, communicate openly, and understand that brand is more than just visuals. You don’t need all the answers – that’s what we’re here for – but we work best when we build together, not just check boxes.
How long does an average project take?
It depends on what we’re working on. A small campaign or social sprint might take a few weeks. A full rebrand or strategy project takes more time. Most projects land somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks, but we always adjust to your needs and pace.
Who manages my project and who does the actual work?
You’ll work directly with a small, dedicated team. No layers, no middlemen. One of us will be your main contact and make sure everything stays on track. Depending on the project, we may bring in a trusted specialist – always under our direction and with your brand in mind.
How do you communicate and collaborate with clients?
We like to keep things clear and human. Most of the time we use email or Slack, sometimes we hop on a call or meet in person. We adapt to what works best for you – from weekly check-ins to quick feedback loops. As long as it feels smooth and natural, we’re good.
What tools do you use?
We use smart tools that make collaboration easy. Notion for planning, Figma for design, Slack or email for communication and different tools for AI. No overcomplication, just whatever fits the project and keeps us aligned.
Do I really need brand strategy?
Not always, but often. A strong strategy helps guide decisions and keep things consistent. It saves time (and confusion) later on. If you already have a solid strategy, we’ll build on it. If not, we’ll help you shape it before jumping into design or campaigns.
Can I hire you for just one part of your services?
Absolutely. Sometimes you just need a campaign, or a content plan, or a design refresh. As long as we understand who you are and where you’re going, we can plug in where it makes the most impact.
If I already have a brand strategy, can I still work with you for creative execution?
Definitely. We often step in to bring existing strategies to life. If the direction is clear and we have room to be creative, we’re happy to jump into execution. Whether it’s design, content, or campaigns.
What happens if I’m not happy with the work?
We do our best to avoid that by working in clear phases and building in feedback along the way. But if something’s off, we talk about it early and fix it together. We’re honest and solutions-focused, no drama, no blame.
What does your payment structure look like?
We usually work with fixed pricing per phase or deliverable. That way, you know what to expect. For larger projects, we split payments into milestones: part upfront, part halfway, and part at delivery. Everything is agreed upfront, no surprises. Prefer a more flexible setup? We can also work with a fixed number of hours per week, acting as an extension of your team. In that case, we send a monthly invoice afterwards based on the hours used. It’s a great fit for ongoing collaboration or when you need extra hands on deck.
How much does it cost to work with you?
It depends on what you need. We price everything based on scope and impact. Smaller projects might start around a few thousand euros. Full brand strategies or campaigns go higher. We’ll always advise on what makes sense for your goals and budget.
What does the process look like from start to finish?
We start with a conversation to get to know you and your goals. Then we put together a custom proposal. Once we begin, we work in clear steps based on the project: strategy, concept, execution, and delivery. You’re involved along the way, but we keep things structured and manageable.
What if my needs change during the project?
That’s part of the process. Brands evolve, and ideas shift. If something changes, we discuss what that means for timing or budget. Small changes are usually easy. Bigger shifts? We’ll adjust together with clear communication and fair agreements.
Can you collaborate with my existing team or freelancers?
Yes. We’re used to plugging into ongoing teams, workflows, or creative partnerships. As long as the roles are clear and everyone’s aligned, we’re happy to collaborate and co-create.
Do you work remotely or on-site?
Mostly remote from our office, it’s efficient and works well. But if it helps to meet in person or work together live, we’re up for that too. We’ll figure out what’s best for the project and your team.
Do you have experience in my industry?
Probably – we’ve worked across many sectors. But industry knowledge isn’t everything. What matters most is understanding your brand, audience, and goals. We’re quick to grasp new contexts and ask the right questions to get to the heart of things.
How do you handle deadlines?
We plan realistically and deliver what we promise. If timing is tight, we’ll be upfront. We take deadlines seriously, but never at the cost of quality. We keep each other sharp and make sure the final result feels right, not rushed.
How involved do you expect me to be as a client?
That’s up to you. Some clients like to be hands-on, others prefer to step back. We provide structure and keep you in the loop where it matters most so you can stay involved without feeling overwhelmed.
What’s your process for handling feedback?
We build in clear moments for feedback and keep it structured. You’ll have space to share input, and we’ll translate that into the next step. No endless back-and-forth, just a smooth rhythm that keeps things moving and aligned.
What happens after the project ends?
We wrap things up properly. If it’s a brand project, you’ll get everything you need to move forward. If it’s a website, we make sure it works and hand it over with care. And if you need support or ongoing work, we’re happy to talk next steps.
